About Bishop Cotton School, Shimla
Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, one of the oldest boys boarding schools in Asia, holds the distinction of being the first public school in India. Established on 28th July 1859 by Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton, the school has a rich legacy of academic excellence. Bishop Cotton, a scholar from Westminster School and a graduate of Cambridge University, began his teaching career at Rugby School under the mentorship of Dr. Thomas Arnold before going on to serve as Master at Marlborough College.
