About The TVS School, TVS Nagar Madurai
LVS, established in honor of Srimathi Lakshmi Ammal, the wife of T.V. Sundram Iyengar, is a registered society under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, amended by Madras Act XXXIV of 1954, and was officially formed on June 6, 1964. The TVS School, originally called TVS Lakshmi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, was conceived as a dream project of LVS. It began in 1972 with just 40 students, and today it serves 4,700 students. Shri N. Sundram was the first correspondent, followed by Shri K. Surya Narayanan in 1968. The school initially offered a CBSE curriculum, but it later switched to the Matriculation syllabus to meet the expectations of the parents. In 1982, Ms. Shobhana Ramachandhran, a member of the TVS family, assumed full responsibility for the school and currently serves as the Chairperson. 910
