About Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University
Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa was established on 7 October 2016 after the conversion of Rajendra Agricultural University, founded in 1970 by the Government of Bihar. The campus holds historic significance as the birthplace of agricultural research and education in India. Its roots trace back to 1905, when the British Government set up the Agricultural Research Institute and College at Pusa to address recurring food shortages. Today, the university plays a vital national role in agricultural and allied sciences, focusing on high-quality teaching, innovative research, and effective extension services.
