
On the occasion of Anti-Terrorism Day, ITM University Gwalior organized an awareness program on the theme "National Unity and Non-Violence". The event aimed to promote the values of unity, peace, social harmony, and national security among students while reinforcing a strong message of zero tolerance towards terrorism.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets, students, faculty members, and university officials. Colonel Pushpwinder Kaur attended the event as the Chief Guest. Distinguished dignitaries, including Dean Academic Dr. Ranjit Singh Tomar, Dean SOET Prof. Mukesh Pandey, DSW Tripti Pathak, Lieutenant Amandeep Kaur, Subedar Major Balwan Singh, Subedar Major Deshraj, Lakshmi Singh, Kamalpreet Kaur, NSS Coordinator Dr. Savita Chauhan, and IQAC Director Dr. Vani Agarwal, were also present.
Terrorism Is a Threat to Humanity: Colonel Pushpwinder Kaur
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Colonel Pushpwinder Kaur emphasized that terrorism is not merely a threat to a particular country or community but to humanity as a whole. She stated that every citizen has a moral responsibility to protect the nation's unity, peace, and human values.
Encouraging the students, she highlighted the importance of discipline, responsibility, tolerance, and brotherhood in everyday life. She stressed that awareness and collective unity are essential in combating terrorism and preserving national integrity. Colonel Kaur further remarked that the youth are the nation's greatest strength and that a strong and secure India can be built through positive thinking, ethical values, and social harmony.
Youth Must Embrace National Unity and Non-Violence: Tripti Pathak
Welcoming the participants, DSW Tripti Pathak spoke about the significance of Anti-Terrorism Day in creating awareness about patriotism, national security, and social responsibility among young minds.
She explained that the primary objective of the programme was to strengthen the spirit of discipline, unity, brotherhood, and human values among students. She encouraged students to understand their responsibilities towards society and the nation and urged them to remain vigilant against negative influences such as terrorism and violence.
Tripti Pathak appealed to the youth to adopt the values of national unity and non-violence in their lives and contribute actively toward building a strong, secure, and peaceful nation.
NCC Cadets and Students Shared Their Views on National Security and Social Harmony
A major highlight of the program was the participation of NCC cadets and students from different institutions who presented their thoughts on anti-terrorism, national unity, discipline, social harmony, and national security.
The speakers emphasized the importance of staying united as citizens and remaining aware of threats that can disrupt peace and harmony in society. Through their presentations, they encouraged fellow students to contribute positively towards nation-building and uphold the values of unity and responsibility.
Students including Kavita Soni, Vaishnavi, Tamanna Singh, Muskan Tomar, Neha Baghel, Tapasya Singh, Riya Sharma, and Anushka shared inspiring messages that encouraged youth to remain committed to the security, unity, and progress of the nation.
A Collective Pledge for Peace and National Unity
The event provided a meaningful platform for students to express their commitment towards national unity and non-violence. Participants pledged to remain vigilant against terrorism and work towards creating a society based on peace, mutual respect, and harmony.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks presented by NSS Coordinator Dr. Savita Chauhan, who appreciated the efforts of all participants and organizers in making the event successful.
