About Indian Law Institute
The Indian Law Institute (ILI), founded in 1956, is a premier institution dedicated to promoting and conducting advanced legal research. Established as an autonomous body under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, ILI works to cultivate the science of law, improve legal education, and support systematic legal studies through research, training, and publications. With nearly 3,000 members, its governance includes the Honble Chief Justice of India as President and leading legal experts on its council. ILIs library is among Indias finest, housing over 75,000 titles and 270 legal periodicals. Recognized for its notable journal JILI, the Institute was granted Deemed University status in 2004. 1414
