About Islamic University of Sciences & Technology University
The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, Jammu & Kashmir, was established in November 2005 under Act No. XVIII of 2005 and began teaching in July 2006. The Chancellor is the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, and the Executive Council, including Vice Chancellors of local universities, governs the university. IUST is accredited by NAAC with Grade B+ and recognized by UGC under Sections 2(f) and 12(b). Its technical and nursing programs are approved by AICTE and INC, and it is a member of the Association of Indian Universities. The university promotes inclusive education, research, and scholarship across sciences, technology, humanities, and social sciences without discrimination. 1648
