Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University, MAHGU, was established and incorporated under Government of Uttarakhand Act No. 33 of 2016, through Notification no. XXXVI 3/2016/48 1/2016 of Uttarakhand Shashan Vidhayee and Sansdiya Karyavibhag, and under Section 2 f of the University Grant Commission UGC Act 1956. The university is located in a peaceful, pollution free environment close to the natural beauty of the Garhwal ranges of the Shivalik hills. Its campus is surrounded by panoramic landscapes that create an ideal atmosphere for higher education.
