Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2000. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University offers courses in the field of education, Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Town Planning, Pharmacy, Applied Arts & Crafts. AKTU was formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU). AKTU Lucknow consists of 758 affiliated  colleges, 7 autonomous colleges and 3 departments.
