About Central University of Andhra Pradesh
Central University of Andhra Pradesh occupies a distinctive place in the Indian university system. Established in 2018 in Anantapuramu, the district headquarters of Rayalaseema, it was created to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh following the bifurcation of the state. The region holds historical significance as part of the Vijayanagara Empire under king Sri Krishnadevaraya and is known for its mineral resources, salubrious climate, sericulture, and horticulture. Anantapuramu is also an educational hub with institutions like Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, and several engineering and medical colleges.
