About Sikkim National Law University
The Sikkim National Law University was established under The Sikkim National Law University Act, 2018 (Act No. 05 of 2018), recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, enacted by the Sikkim Legislative Assembly. The Act aims to provide for the establishment of a premier institution of legal education in the state, dedicated to the advancement of knowledge, learning, teaching, and research in law and allied disciplines. SNLU is envisioned as a center of excellence in legal studies, committed to fostering legal education and promoting justice through interdisciplinary approaches and dynamic pedagogy. The University is governed by key statutory bodies including the Academic Council, Executive Council, Governing Council, and Finance Committee. The Honorable Chief Justice of the High Court of Sikkim serves as the Chancellor of the University, providing leadership and ensuring the institutions commitment to academic and administrative integrity. 1665
