About Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya

Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV), Jabalpur, was established on 1 October 1964 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh under Act No. 15 of 1964. As a fully government-funded State Agricultural University, JNKVV leads research and development initiatives for agricultural advancement in Madhya Pradesh. The University was founded following the recommendations of the Radhakrishnan Commission (1949) and the Indo-American Teams on Agricultural Research and Education, modeled on the U.S. Land Grant system to bridge the gap between scientists and farmers. Located in Jabalpur, the multi-campus university is named after Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and was inaugurated by Smt. Indira Gandhi, 1715
