About Baba Farid University of Health Sciences
Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was established in July 1998 by an Act of the Punjab State Legislature in memory of the great Sufi Saint Baba Farid. It is the fifth health sciences university in India and the first in Northern India. The university aims to create an academic and intellectual environment for the free exchange of ideas among faculties, health professionals, planners, managers, scientists, and educators. It focuses on community-oriented, need-based education and training to address the shortage and quality of health professionals. The university is committed to developing innovative healthcare models and serving as a pace-setter in health education, research, and training across India and abroad. 1622
