About Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University
Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala, was established in 2019 by the State Legislature as the first open university in Punjab. It aims to provide accessible education to all, including learners in rural areas, jails, PwD, and SC/ST communities, through its extensive network of Learner Support Centres. The university follows a learner-centred approach, implementing National Education Policy recommendations and promoting online and digital learning. With six schools of learning and full-time faculty, JGND PSOU offers UG, PG, and skill-based programs. The university is committed to delivering innovative, multidisciplinary, high-quality, and need-based education to empower learners and expand opportunities for higher education and employment. 1627
