About The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law
The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, was established in 2006 by the State Legislature to serve as a Centre of Excellence in legal education. It began functioning from Mohindra Kothi, Patiala, and gained Bar Council of India approval the same year. Registered under the University Grants Commission Act, RGNUL is eligible for UGC grants and was accredited with an A Grade by NAAC in 2015. The university operated from the heritage Mohindra Kothi building until 2013 in a pollution-free environment. In 2018, it was granted autonomy under UGC regulations, and in 2019, the Ministry of Human Resource Development recognized RGNUL as the cleanest government residential university under the Swachh Campus initiative. 1630
