About Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University
Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU) was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu under Act No. 33 of 2008 and began functioning on 1 July 2008. Headquartered in Chennai, it is Indias first university dedicated exclusively to teacher education. The University holds UGC 12B status and is accredited by NAAC with an A grade. TNTEU oversees a large number of government, aided and self-financing colleges of education across the state. On its campus, it offers M.Ed., M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes through departments such as Pedagogical Sciences, Educational Technology, Psychology, Curriculum Studies and Educational Administration.
