About MIT Art Design and Technology University
Rev. Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, a visionary leader, established a group of institutions with the purpose of delivering top-quality education and inspiring a social transformation. The MAEER group, aligned with the philosophy of MIT ADT University, was founded to strengthen Maharashtra’s higher education ecosystem and provide students with platforms to meet global demands. In the early 1980s, dedicated academicians and social thinkers formed the Maharashtra Academy of Engineering Educational and Research (MAEER) Trust. On May 1, 1983, MAEER introduced the first private engineering college in Pune, known as MIT. From its humble beginning with a few students in two classrooms, the MIT Group has grown into one of the most respected names in higher education across engineering, science, technology, medicine, and various other fields. By 2015, the Group expanded to more than ten campuses across Maharashtra, over 70,000 students, and more than 84 institutions, continuing its rapid and impactful growth. 1326
