Amrita College of Engineering and Technology better known as Amrita College, Nagercoil was started in the year 1999. This is a private college approved by AICTE, Chennai and affiliated to Anna University Chennai providing UG and PG courses in engineering and management. Located on a campus over 25.44 acres, ACET has total strength of 1,079 students and a teaching staff of 96 members. Institute deals with 9 courses in 3 degrees with the specialisation in different fields of engineering and management. The student composition of ACET at undergraduate level is 73 %male students and 27% female students while at postgraduate level there are 88% female students. Amrita College of Engineering and Technology, Nagercoil is virtually furnished with all the amenities required for helping in achieving academic success and improving the quality of the students� life. There are well-equipped science laboratories for practical jobs, junior and senior library rich in teaching learning resources, and a sport complex for physical training and team spirit. The institution provides adequate hostels for the students with different sexes having their hostels to enhance a comfortable living. The college also a cafeteria for providing healthy foods, a functional auditorium for events, and a secure information technology platform for digital learning. Others are; provisions of medical facilities for students, services such as ATMS, guest house facilities for visitors and adequate compound space for effective student development. The institute provides numerous courses, which include the following to welcome the diverse academic dreams of students. Having its roots in undergraduate graduation, ACET offers B.E degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering , Computer Science and Engineering, Civil engineering Artificial Intelligence and Data Science streams. At the post graduate level it offers M.E. in Embedded Systems and M.E in Computer Science and Engineering. The total intake varies for each of these courses approved; the common courses like B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering has 120 students each. The TU and all the undergraduate engineering programmes offered at ACET Nagercoil are admitted based on the TNEA ranks in general. The students who wish to enroll in diploma courses must apply for TNEA along with the successful candidate must undergo counselling for admission to the course. However, for post graduate programme the admission requirements may differ. Admission to the institute can be done through several common and popular examinations including TNEA in case of engineering degrees.
