Nehru Memorial College Puthanampatti Upholding the spirit of the founding father Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru ��the architect of Modern India�, is an autonomous institution experiencing steady growth, and is situated in the culturally rich and historic region of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu since 1967. The college located on 45 acres has 67 options in 15 degree programs. Annually the college has a students� population of 3,921 students and faculty of 150 teachers, thus has a perfect student to teacher ratio. It is accredited by the NAAC, and the institution has students from all over the country and with 59% being female students in undergraduate programs with 62% in postgraduate programs. The college provides student with major in different discipline such as Economics, English literature, Computer Science and Biotechnology among others. Nehru Memorial College strives to make available various facilities that can a be of help to the students. Among them are constructed hostels for boys and girls to provide appropriate accommodation for the out station students. A spacious library at Seshasayee has more than 50000 books, 84 current subscription journals, and 1252 back volumes of stored journals helpful for all scholarly endeavors. There is also provision for sports and games through a gymnasium and other sport related installations, The college therefore encourages sporting activities too. �For the purpose of academic activities, the institution provides state of the art Information Technology systems and equipped laboratories. Other facilities are; We have a Cafeteria, Auditorium, and Transport Section with 7 buses and 1 Van. It also affordabilities like Wi-Fi, guest house and car parking services for the students too. Outside the college, there is Syndicate Bank, the ATM facility of which is comfortably located at the entrance and caters the banking facilities of students and staffs. Academic programs available in the college include 67 courses across many disciplines. These comprise full time undergraduate and postgraduate courses and also, research programs. There are 15 undergraduate programs, 15 postgraduate programs, 11 M.Phil and 11 Ph.D programs in the institution. Further, diploma and certification courses is also provided by the college. The total enrolled students were 3921 in the total cohort in the academic year 2022 where 2654 students were enrolled for undergraduate courses and 446 for postgraduate students.
